Introduction to Year 7

Hunters Hill High has a systematic program to ensure that new students entering Year 7 are well prepared and supported during their move to high school.

Hunters Hill High offers the following programs to welcome new Year 7's:

  • School Open Day: an opportunity to view the whole school and to meet teachers and students
  • a Transition Program for students requiring additional support
  • Orientation Day: an opportunity to explore and enjoy high school activities
  • Orientation Day: an opportunity for parents to be assisted with preparation for a child's high school experience
  • the Year 7 Day One Program
  • the Peer Support Program
  • the provision of Year 7 Book Packages (at canteen)
  • student guide services to each class, canteen and bus zone during the first 2 weeks of high school

Students joining Year 7 after the initial school intake will be guided by 'a suitable Year 7 buddy' to assist his/her integration.
