School Certificate

The School Certificate is awarded to students at the completion of Year 10, reporting on a student's performance on studies covered during Years 9 and 10. It is administered by the NSW Board of Studies.  The School Certificate reports upon both school-based and examination-based components.

Candidates for the School Certificate undertake externally administered School Certificate Examinations in November of each year. The courses tested by state-wide examinations include:

  • English-literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Australian History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship
  • Computing Skills

All other courses are assessed within the school's assessment program and communicated to the NSW Board of Studies.
