Sport is an important activity at Hunters Hill High School. It affords students opportunities to develop healthy lifestyles, to work cooperatively in teams and to gain enjoyment through physical endeavour.
The School Sport Program offers a range of grade competition opportunities in team sports or alternatively a range of recreational and house sports. The sports offered change periodically based upon the seasons and student interest.

The beauty and space of the site provide unique opportunities for the school, the School Cross-Country Carnival and the School Athletics Carnival are both held annually on the school oval, directly beside the Lane Cove River and beautiful Sydney Harbour. The School Swimming Carnival is conducted locally.

Students have the Combined High Schools program to extend themselves to reach their full potential in the highest echelons of their chosen sporting fields. Students from Hunters Hill High School have represented Australia internationally and in the Olympic Games.
